My boyfriend and I decided to come back here on a whim to celebrate our anniversary this year and man, I am pleasantly surprised. This place is better than I remembered it being.
The atmosphere is nice. It's the same decor from way back when, but overall still nice. The food selection was pretty big and I kept seeing them refill the food so it was always fresh. Some dishes stood out and some disappointed but I think that's pretty usual for a cheap buffet. Stay away from the soup though.
Make sure to make reservations and come early cuz this place and the parking lot is always packed! -

For a buffet this place is decent, it has a lot of options to meet everyone's needs. I would agree the restaurant needs a major face lift. I didn't find it dirty in any way. For the halal options they have a rotisserie chicken that's clearly marked and 1 pizza that has chicken as a topping. Other than that they have a lot of vegetarian and seafood options. I only go during the early bird dinner special (during the week) this deal is the best value, only $17.99.
Service is great and they have a huge space. My only complaint is that sometimes it gets kinda hectic around the buffet area, you gotta make sure you don't bump into anyone and drop your plate. I would steer clear on holidays. I much prefer Frankie's instead of Mandarin
Every time I've dined here the food was replenished very quick. Again it's an Italian buffet so don't expect healthy food, I'll admit some items are a bit salty. I like to grab a large halal chicken breast and add some sides. I like the bread pudding with custard for dessert. Mangia! -

I'm from San Diego and Italian buffets do not exist there so this place is absolutely amazing to me! Its heaven!! You could say I almost pasta-way badum tss. They had so many different pastas to offer. I especially enjoyed the seafood one. It's definitely worth it. I wish I lived here so I could have it as an option.
The place itself is huge. There are different decorated rooms that add to your eating experience. The staff is also very friendly. Their birthday surprise is very entertaining.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and tasty meal. -

Been here only a handful of times. The place is located on southeast corner of Woodbine Ave and Steelcase Road. You can't really miss it since they have a big leaning tower of Pisa in front of their restaurant. This place is great for large groups. They can actually accommodate various sizes event for largest events like birthday parties or some kind of small celebration not looking for a dandy meal. The restaurant is buffet style and go to the stations to get your food. So minimal table service.
Atmosphere 2.5/5
It is okay, hasn't change much in decades. It really needs an update in all areas.
Service 3/5
Average service, quick in cleaning tables, not bad when restocking food trays.
Food 3/5
It is okay. If you are looking for authentic Italian, this isn't the place to get it. Unless you set the bar extremely low. You aren't getting the best quality from it. However, if you aren't looking for authenticity and just a taste of it, then it is a good place to try and if you don't like it you can eat something else. Since it is a buffet there are lots of alternatives.
Overall, I don't come here that often, maybe like once a year. If you are tired of going to Japanese buffets or the Mandarin, then this is a good option. They place is loaded with carbs and meats, so you are easily full. And may not get the bang for your buck. -

Note to self: DO NOT eat at an open buffet priced at $15.99 per person!
It's been years since I last been to Frankie's, maybe 6 or 7 years! And oh man do I regret coming back!
The place is falling down, is beat up, so old and looks like a big time wreck!
The food is just terrible, old, repetitive, the salad bar is sad, the soups are disgusting!
I never aim to be this harsh at a restaurant, but this place made me suck mentally and in my stomach!
Too bad frankie's! Such a horrible terrible experience!
